A team of the Central Goods and Services Tax (GST) conducted multiple allegations on a very popular private coaching center in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday Tuesday night., said reports.
As per reports, the Directorate General of GST Intelligence conducted raids at three places of Vanik coaching institute in the State Capital over suspicion of tax evasion. The officials seized important documents from the coaching institutes. It was alleged that the institute has evaded Goods and Services Tax worth lakhs of rupees.
Apart from Bhubaneswar, the GST team also carried out raids in Kolkata in this connection.
Notably, Vanik Institute provides coaching in IAS, OAS, UPSC and other competitive examinations.
Yesterday, two teams consisting of 30 officers raided the popular private coaching center in Bhubaneswar for 18 hours at a stretch. All the financial papers and bills were checked, many important papers have been seized. The CMD of the coaching center was also questioned by the DGGI yesterday, said reliable reports.
The volume of students admitted in this coaching institute was large and the fee charged from the students went into lakhs of rupees, sources said.
