Forest Officials Capture Ailing Leopard Cub in Odisha’s Nuapada, Undergo Treatment
Nuapada: Villagers in Dharmabandh under Silliary Gram Panchayat in Odisha’s Nuapada district spotted a leopard cub wandering in the nearby forest on Sunday morning and informed the Forest department officials, who arrived at the spot and captured the animal by throwing a net over it.
According to the Forest Department officials, the leopard cup is ill and unable to move properly. They suspect that the animal may have been ill due to heat stroke.
Earlier, the leopard had killed and devoured a cow near Silliary village. Khadial Forest Officer Sunil Kumar Tripathi said that the tiger was being treated at the spot where it was captured. A team under the leadership of District Veterinary Officer Sachi Panda is continuing with the treatment of the leopard cub.
However, Forest Department officials are yet to clarify the precise health condition of the animal and what it was being treated for.
