Fisherman Dies After Boat Capsizes In Malkangiri’s Chitrakonda Dam; One Missing

Malkangiri: A fisherman died while his two companions swam ashore after a boat carrying them capsized in the Balimela reservoir in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.

The man, who has gone missing, has been identified as Krupa Benia of the locality. According to information, three persons were fishing in the water reservoir when the boat sank. While two swam safely to the riverbank, Krupa went missing.

They immediately informed the villagers who launched a rescue operation. However, the search operation was suspended midway due to darkness.

The rescue operation was resumed on Thursday morning.

On being informed, a team of Fire Services personnel also joined them this morning.
