Kantbanji: In a tragic incident, unable to bear pain following wife’s death, a man has killed himself at Kantabanji area in Balangir district of Odisha.
Reports say that, the man identified as Godhan Mallik committed suicide after the news of the death of his wife identified as Chandrakala in Dabri village under Kantabanji police station limits.
Sources said that Godhan’s wife Chandrakala was suffering from kidney related ailment. He spent a lot of money for her treatment but failed to save her life. His wife died last night. Hours after her death, the grieving husband reportedly hanged self from a tree at his farmland in the wee hours of today.
According to the villagers, till her last breath, Godhan had tried his best to save his wife. Chandrakala died at around 11 pm on Sunday. Aggrieved by the death of his wife, Godhan took the drastic step.
