Rayagada: A Centrel Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer allegedly shot himself to death with his service revolver at the 4th Battalion Headquarter in Odisha’s Rayagada town, today.
The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar, Assistant Commandant at the 4th Battalion Headquarter in Rayagada town, sources said. He was the second in command at the battalion.
On being informed, cops along with the scientific team reached the spot and initiated an investigation in this regard.
While the officer was suspected to have committed suicide, the reason behind the extreme step taken by him is yet to be ascertained.
