Coast guard Aircraft deployed to trace missing girl in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, June 1: On the request of the Special Relief Commissioner an Aircraft of Coast Guard from Bhubaneswar joined the rescue operation to trace the missing girl. A relative of the missing girl said, she had appeared for the plus two annual examinations this year and is expecting the result.
Senior officers of the district administration said the rescue operation by the Aircraft was suspended for the day and would continue tomorrow if the girl was not traced by then.
However, the rescue operation by other teams would continue. The condition of all four girls is stated to be stable. Sources said the area where the girls were taking bath is a prohibited area and bathing is not allowed.
According to reports, girl died and another missing while taking bath in sea near Aryapalli under Chhatrapur Police station of Ganjam district early on Thursday morning.
Sources said six girls all friends and in the age group of 18 to 20 from Seragarha area of the district were drowned while taking bath in the state.
While four girls were rescued safely by the local people, the body of a girl was recovered and one girl was still missing.
Police identified the deceased girl as Swapnarani Pandit. Soon after the incident Fire Brigade personnel, local fishermen and ODRAF team and a marine team were deployed in the rescue operation.
