In an unfortunate incident, at least four persons drowned after a boat they were on, capsized in a river in Semiliguda area of Odisha’s Koraput district on Thursday.
The mishap took place near Podagada jetty under the jurisdiction of Semiliguda police station. Four others were safely rescued from the river.
According to local Sarpanch, three of those who drowned were women. The ill-fated country boat with eight passengers on board was en route to Tentulipadar from Mukhigudai when the mishap occurred.
