Bhubaneswar, Feb 15: The Odisha unit of BJP will hold demonstrations in all district headquarters and launch a civil disobedience movement on Wednesday to protest against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
The party will also resort to a sit-in on dharna in front of the Governor’s house on February 16 and submit a memorandum to the President through the Governor to dismiss the state government.
The BJP activists on Tuesday held demonstrations in five different places of the Capital city demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The Chief Minister, the BJP leaders said, should immediately step down for his failure to give security to the people of the stat. They alleged that anarchy and lawlessness prevailed in the state due to the inefficiency of the Chief Minister.
The BJP supporters held demonstrations at A G Square, Jaydev Vihar, Palasuni, Khandagiri and Samantarapur in the capital city in support of their demand.
Political violence in the state has increased manifold in the state during the last few years and the law and order situation has collapsed.
The state government, they further alleged, is suppressing many heinous crimes through inquiry into the cases by its own agencies.
The killing of a cabinet minister in broad daylight by a Police officer indicated the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, they remarked.
