BJD Youth Leader hangs self In Odisha’s Sundargarh
A youth leader of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his room in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Dhiraj Prasad, the party’s Sundargarh town president.
According to reports, Dhiraj was found hanging in his residence in Bhitiriapada locality in Sundargarh town. The reason why he took such an extreme step is yet to be ascertained. As the news spread, hundreds of BJD workers along with locals were seen gathering at the residence of the deceased. Sources said Prasad was popular among locals as an amiable and people-friendly leader and it is still unknown what prompted him to take such an extreme step.
Police said a case of unnatural death has been registered and an investigation is underway.
