Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Shradhanjali Behera, an associate of Archana Nag who has been accused of blackmailing and extorting money from influential people.
The court had previously denied her interim protection plea and ordered her to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate in their investigation into the money laundering allegations against Archana.
Shradhanjali had previously been questioned twice by the ED in their Bhubaneswar office and it was discovered that Archana had deposited a significant amount of illicit money into Shradhanjali’s bank account.
The ED has filed a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against Archana, her husband, business partner Khageswar Patra, and Shradhanjali.
