19 workers injured as steam pipe of Tata Steel Plant at Meramundali explodes

Bhubaneswar, June 13: As many as 19 workers were injured, some of them critically, after the Steam pipe of Tata Steel plant at Meramandali in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district burst on Tuesday.

All the 19 injured were first treated at the Plant hospital but later shifted to a private hospital in Cuttack.

Tata Steel sources said the accident took place at about 1 PM in the BFPP2 plant. The authority has already ordered an inquiry into the incident. District administration and Police have reached the spot and are inquiring into the incident.
