Unveiling Ayodhya Consecration Ceremony: Invited Dignitaries, Sacred Rituals, and All Necessary Details

Ayodhya: Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra’s general secretary, Champat Rai, revealed the detailed action plan for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple scheduled for January 22 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The trust, overseeing the construction of the temple, has finalized the list of guests and sent out invitations to individuals from diverse fields.

Addressing a press conference in Ayodhya, Mr. Rai, who also holds the position of International Vice President of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), stated, “Personalities from different fields including artists, poets, industrialists, doctors, scientists are invited. We are also inviting families of kar sevaks who lost their lives during the Ram Mandir struggle.”

Three Idols from Different Stones:

Mr. Rai shared that three idols are currently in the making, crafted from two stones sourced from Karnataka and one from Rajasthan. The final selection of the best idol, slated for the consecration ceremony, will take place in the first week of January. Invitations to the event have been extended through letters signed by Mr. Rai, emphasizing the historic significance of the occasion and the progress in the construction of the temple.

Celebrity Guests and Dignitaries:

Approximately 100 members affiliated with the VHP and 25 officials from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have been invited for the main ceremony. Renowned personalities, including sports legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, and industrial magnate Mukesh Ambani, are among the distinguished invitees. The guest list also includes individuals who played crucial roles in the Ram Mandir movement.

Consecration Details:

The trust has scheduled the enthronement of the idol of Lord Ram at the sanctum sanctorum between noon and 12:45 p.m. on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the inauguration of the temple in Ayodhya, with Vedic priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit designated to perform the main rituals of the consecration ceremony.

The letter of invitation sent to the guests expresses the desire for their presence on this historic day, stating, “On Paush Shukla Dwadashi, Vikram Samvat 2080, January 22, 2024, the new idol of Ram Lalla will be consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum.”

The ceremony is poised to be a momentous event, bringing together individuals from various walks of life to witness the culmination of a long-standing cultural and religious aspiration.
