‘That Was Crazy’: Duo recreates iconic DDLJ scene in Maratha Mandir, audience cheers for them

Ask any Mumbaikar and they will tell you how watching Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir with a bag of popcorn is nothing less than a tourist activity. DDLJ is a timeless romance movie that touches many people’s hearts.

The film was released in 1995 and broke numerous records. Even now, lots of people like to watch this movie. In fact, the film was just rereleased on February 10 for a one-week run in theatres throughout India to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Interestingly, Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir still screens the film every day for the last 28 years and the jampacked audiences prove what the film means to them.

Recently, an influencer duo decided to recreate the iconic ‘Tujhe Dekho To’ song from DDLJ inside the theatres. The viral moment was created by Siddhesh Lokare and Onella Rodrigues around the film’s re-release during Valentine’s Day week. The duo took over the balcony in front of the screen and performed amid thundering applause and cheers.

The clip then goes on to show how the duo went to Maratha Mandir while wearing Raj’s leather jacket (SRK’s character) and Simran’s(Kajol’s character) white ensemble. They acted out the famous scene where Raj arrives in Simran’s hometown to profess his love for her. She then runs through a picturesque field filled with saarson phool (mustard flowers) and embraces Raj. Goosebumps, right?

The post was captioned, “We took our love for SRK-Kajol to the iconic Maratha Mandir! What energy, what an execution, what a collaboration!!! Still trying to wrap our heads around the fact that we made this happen in front of 100+ odd DDLJ lovers! Cheers to the art of content creation!” Watch the viral video here:-
