Yappy birthday! World’s oldest dog, Bobi, Who Just Turned 31
A farm dog in Portugal called Bobi has reached a major milestone, just turned 31 and he knows how to paw-ty! His owner, Leonel Costa, is going all out to make his furry friend’s birthday special with a birthday bash in Portugal.
Bobi — a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo born May 11, 1992 — was named oldest living dog by Guinness World Records and is also the oldest canine ever recorded.
The owner also shared details about the party that will be organised. He was quoted as saying by GWR that 100 fans and friends have been invited for the birthday bash on Saturday. They include people from other countries as well.
Bobi’s owner, Leonel Costa, said that local meats and fish will be served to the guests, with extra for Bobi, who only eats human food. The doggo has been in good health. Leonel recently took him to the vet for a check-up as he was concerned about potential physical and mental stress caused to Bobi after seeing so many visitors.
Mr Costa said he has owned several old-aged dogs in the past, including Bobi’s mother, Gira, who lived to the age of 18. However, he never imagined that any of his dogs would reach their thirties.
Life has been hectic for Bobi since the dog was awarded his Guinness World Record title in February.
