It goes without saying that divorce is still taboo and frowned upon in Indian society. Couples who decide to end a long-term relationship go through a lot of mental stress on account of being judged and shamed by society. Things are especially bad for women, who are blamed for speaking up, and for leaving abusive marriages.
However, a woman made the decision to defy expectations by organising a distinctive photo shoot to commemorate her divorce. Have a look at her unique photoshoot.

Instead, the fierce single mom decided to chalk out her own fate and posed with a bottle of liquor and a board with the aforementioned sassy quote written on it.

Artist and fashion designer Shalini shared a series of pictures on her Instagram account, celebrating the end of a ”bad marriage” and her new-found singlehood. In the pictures, she is seen dressed in a red dress, while holding the letters ”DIVORCE.”
”A Divorced woman’s Message to those who feel voiceless. It’s okay to leave a bad marriage because you deserve to be happy and never settle for less, take control of your lives and make the changes necessary to create a better future for yourself and your children. DIVORCE is NOT a FAILURE! It’s a turning point for you and to lead positive changes in your lives. It takes a lot of courage to leave a marriage and stand-alone, so to all my BRAVE WOMEN out there I dedicate this,” reads the caption.
The posts have garnered many reactions and thousands of likes. People didn’t hold back while congratulating Shalini for being so brave with the divorce. Many also commented on how the concept is indeed something others should be inspired by.
A man wrote, “Divorce is happy thing for woman. After receiving 3 crores in alimony and 2 lakhs monthly maintenance for lifetime, who won’t be happy.”
