Bhubaneswar, Dec 20 : Bolani Ore Mines (BOM) belonging to Odisha Group of Mines of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), has set a new single day production record by producing a total lumps and fines of 32,594 Tonnes on December 19, 2023.
The previous best for single day production of the Mines was 31517 tonnes achieved on January 12, 2023. The consistent average daily production of 28600 tonnes for the last 7 days has paved the way for the success,RSP sources said.
Congratulating the collective of Bolani Ore Mines on this outstanding performance, Director In-Charge, Rourkela Steel Plant Atanu Bhowmick, exhorted them to keep up the remarkable work.
Bolani Ore Mines ,a captive iron ore mine under the Raw Materials Division of SAIL commenced operation in 1960.
The Mines became part of Odisha Group of Mines of SAIL, RSP from July, 2021. The iron ore mining activity is now being modernized for production capacity enhancement through various projects.
