There are ways to handle political goals; by propaganda, public relations through media and word of mouth. The mystic often appears true despite being in a nebulous state.
Lets talk of the temple related surge of euphoria. One does not may have the count as how much spent on those and more so the Ayodhya. Nothing wrong as it speaks of the God and a heritage revived. It has even enjoyed the support of people from diverse communities.
But temple is not a magic wand to solve problems like hunger, malnutrition, schooling, health , drinking water or unemployment.
History has it that, Shivaji many temples, and Marathas stop the dalits entering those temples. For example Singeri Sankar Mutt was not destroyed by Mughals or other outsiders, Rather the Maratha king Peshwa did that and Tipu Sultan had offered assistance to Singeri Shankaracharya to rebuild it.
Amazing that an idea was created that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Nagaland in 2015, the Naga political issue was resolved, but subsequently it came to be known that, it was not.
But, lets see how the PR was managed. First it was claimed that, Naga isuue was resolved and an accord is to be signed. An issue that was hanging since 1947 and no other Prime Minister could do, Modi did it.
Coincidentally, even before Modi could return to Delhi, the Naga outfits started claiming that ‘Nagalim’ an outfit started claiming that, it is an independent country and has been agreed by Modi government.
Lo and behold, everything went tupsy-turvy and a government spokesman announced that, it was just a draft and not any accord was signed.
Anyway, Naga political issue is yet to be resolved and that is it.
Now a line on the climate threat or change: No prophesy is enough. In a planet with finite and fast depleting resources, if the experts think of infinite growth, then we are all living in a fool’s paradise.
