Patna, Sep 10 : In less than 24 hours after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during G-20 dinner in New Delhi on Saturday night, former Chief Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi, patron of HAM and a constituent of NDA, said it is a signal of political realignment before the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
Manjhi told media persons here that it was a great change that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was seen talking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with warmth in presence of US President Joe Biden during G-20 dinner in the National Capital.
Kumar was deliberately avoiding PM Modi even during government functions for the last several months since he snapped ties with BJP and formed Grand Alliance government in Bihar in August last year, he noted.
“Kumar can no longer continue with RJD and JD(U) as he is not getting his due importance in Grand Alliance, which took the shape of ‘INDIA’ recently”, former Chief Minister said.
No, it was not just an interaction of Nitish with Modi but had greater significance with signal of new political realignment before 2024 Lok Sabha election, he pointed out.
As it is, Chief Minister Kumar had not shared dias with PM Modi in last 18 months. He had avoided Modi even in government functions on one pretext or the other during this period. But his meeting with PM Modi during G-20 dinner has sparked speculations on next move of Chief Minister Kumar.
