Bhubaneswar, Nov 11 : Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) department, Odisha and Sightsavers India, a National level development organisation working for the empowerment of PwDs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Saturday for the welfare of the PWDs.
SSEPD Deputy Secretary S Behera and Prasanna Kumar, Director (Programme Operations), Sightsavers India signed the MoU.
The MoU will be in force for 3 years. Within the collaborative partnership, technical support will be provided at both state and district level in the fields of preparing PwDs database, skill development programmes and strengthening PwDs livelihood aspects.
SSEPD Minister Ashok Chandra Panda said the Government looks forward for productive outcome through different collaborations and convergence with other Departments and Civil Service Organisations.
Panda said the collaborative partnership is being encouraged by the department for better result and broader reach across the state.
SSEPD Department Principal Secretary Bishnupada Sethi assured government’s cooperation in all activities as envisaged in the MoU.
Sightsavers India will actively support SSEPD in sensitizing stakeholders, facilitating self- defense training, establishing computer training center and collaborating on inclusive eye health services.
