Beed, July 1 : Obstacles coming to build the best monument of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Arabian Sea are being removed, said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here on Friday.
He was speaking on the birth anniversary program of Shiv Sangarm founder leader Vinayakrao Mete who was killed last year in a road accident.
After arriving here, he first visited the memorial site of Mete and offered floral wreath.
Fadnavis said at the level of the Supreme Court, the matter has been brought to the High Court.
The government will convince the High Court that the Shiv Memorial will be completed by doing additional environmental work.
Fadnavis expressed his belief that Mete’s dream of constructing a Shiv memorial will be fulfilled.
On this occasion district Guardian Minister Atul Save, Nanded MP Pratap Chikhlikar, MLA Namita Mundada, MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar, MLA Bharti Lovekar, former Minister Mahadev Jankar, Pravin Darekar, Dr Jyotitai Mete of Shivsangram, Ashutosh Mete were prominently present.
Fadnavis further said, ” The fight for Maratha reservation and the efforts made by Mete to build a memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Arabian sea are invaluable. Social causes are more important than politics. Mete was working in this regard. He fought for the poor and weak people of Maratha society. Due to his efforts, he has contributed to the construction of Sarathi, a government organization. ”
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that the government is trying to get reservation for the Maratha community while completing its work, he added.
