Patna, Nov 2 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday exhorted all opposition parties to fight unitedly for the ouster of Narendra Modi government from power as he alleged that the present regime is doing nothing and only engaged in propaganda.
Kumar while addressing as guest of a rally organised here by CPI said that first meeting of opposition parties was held in Patna on June 23 and later other meetings were also convened in Bengaluru and Mumbai, which resulted in coming into existence of new opposition alliance INDIA.
Congress was presently engaged in assembly elections in five states and the party was doing nothing at the moment, to speed up the remaining work of newly newly floated INDIA Alliance, he added.
“It is expected that Congress will start calling meetings of opposition parties after Assembly elections in five states”, Chief Minister said adding that he had started the job to unite all opposition parties and give strength to Congress for ouster of Narendra Modi government from the power in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
BJP was trying to spread hatred among Hindus and Muslims to take political mileage but the saffron party should not be allowed to do so, he alleged.
Kumar said that media was not being allowed to function independently under present regime at the Centre.
” I have always been strongly advocating for freedom of media and supported to ensure its functioning without any hindrance, ” he added.
Chief Minister advised CPI and CPI(M) to merge and form a united left party. After all, both CPI and CPI(M) were the one party earlier but later parted ways, he recalled and said that he would always suggest both the parties to get united.
