Many purists who have dedicated their life and still resolve to the sovereignty of India do never concur to the proposed change of name of the country from India to Bharat.
Although Bharat the name is as dear to the people of India and the name is revered as Bharat Mata(Mother) which stands on top of all, but there seems to be no pressing compulsion for a sudden shift in nomenclature now for which there would be many official formalities to under go clerical correction to legislative and legal alternations.
Was it an oversight on the part on of the team who scripted the Constitution led by Dr Ambedkar the principal man behind the drafting? Let that be placed on record if so.
They plead:
The preamble reads as “WE THE PEOPLE OF INDIA , having solemnly resolved to constitute India…….. The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Kesavananda Bharti V. State of Kerala reported in AIR 1973 S.C. 1461 have also held “The Preamble declares that the people of India have resolved to constitute their country into a Sovereign Democratic Republic. No one can suggest that these words and expressions are ambiguous in any manner ………”
Part-V of the constitution of India The president of India is the head of the state of the Republic of India
Article- 52 :
There shall be a president of India
Only Article 1-(1) says India that is Bharat
Hence the Name of our country is India . The Nick-name is Bharat. Government of India should not use the nickname in official correspondence.
Further the nickname Bharat may be deleted from the Constitution of India which reflects King’s Rule. The people of India have already rejected king’s rule and accepted/adopted DEMOCRACY.
