Minor boy killed by Leopard in a village near Sunabeda wildlife sanctuary
Bhubaneswar, Oct 30 (UNI) In a tragic and terrifying incident a leopard killed a minor boy while he was playing on the street of a village in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Monday.
Police said the minor boy identified as Dambaru Majhi of Katingpani village under Dharambandha police station in Nuapada district was playing in front of his house in the evening when the incident took place.
The village was located close to Sunabeda wildlife sanctuary and the leopard pounced on the boy and took him to the forest.
The villagers raised an alarm and launched a search operation in the forest to trace the missing boy. However after a long search forest personnel found the mutilated body of the boy inside the forest.
The boy was rescued and rushed to the Nuapada District headquarters hospital but the doctors declared him dead.
The police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.The incident has sent shock waves in the area.
