Kolkata, Aug 12 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday asked if the PM cannot control the law and order in a small state like Manipur, how can he run the entire country?
Banerjee alleged that over 170 central teams were sent to Bengal but these central teams did not reach Manipur or when the wrestlers in Delhi were assaulted.
” These teams did not go to Uttar Pradesh
or Madhya Pradesh. Manipur has been burning for the past 100 days, ” she stated.
” In the coming days, Team INDIA will remove BJP from power and follow the ideals of the
Quit India Movement by Gandhi ji. Today, the historic freedom movement’s name is being
twisted to demand the exile of our own citizens. BJP is the merchant of violence, ” she asserted.
” If there was violence during panchayat polls, how could there be 2.31 lakh nominations?
How would BJP-CPI(M)-Congress form boards in so many places? How did 20 of our
Trinamool Congress workers die? BJP was behind their deaths, ” Banerjee averred.
” Their end is near and we will have to bear this for only six more months. INDIA team is
ready for the fight against him for our democracy. We will give seats but not our heads and dignity, ” the Chief Minister iterated.
” Isn’t he ashamed of witnessing the abject humiliation of Dalits in Uttar Pradesh? ” she questioned and said, ” What are the steps taken against BJP MP for assaulting the wrestlers? Why were the murderers in the Bilkis Bano case let go? ”
” Now, they have come up with Uniform Civil Code. There will be no UCC. The way we
opposed NRC-CAA, we will oppose UCC as well. This is because we are a vast country where unity in diversity is our strength. Every religion has its own customs and
traditions. Has he ever thought about this? No. He doesn’t hold any discussions with anyone on any matter, ” she said.
” He has turned Doordarshan into Modi Darshan and only engages in Mann Ki
Baat and BJP Ki Baat. All criminals are being branded as pious after entering the BJP Washing Machine. Thieves
and dacoits are sitting in BJP. Women in the country have never felt so unsafe before. This
is why I ask him to take care of his state first, ” she further alleged.
” We are living in Bengal peacefully. How can he run the country if he keeps maligning and threatening Bengal at every
step? It must be remembered that the people of Bengal have never surrendered to
the politics of division and riots and the people will say the last word. What Bengal
thinks today, India thinks tomorrow, ” she maintained.
” We want nothing but respect. He can abuse me but the people and land of Bengal should
not be insulted. Only six months are left of their government. A lot of attempts are being made by sending ED-CBI to intimidate and arrest leaders and derive electoral benefits. They won’t succeed
in their efforts, ” Banerjee commented.
” CJI has been excluded from the selection panel for Election Commissioners and
instead a BJP cabinet minister has been brought in. How can the Election
Commission be fair and unbiased? Will they hijack EVM machines now or
manipulate the voting process? ” she further asked.
