Mumbai, Oct 24 : Maharashtra government on Tuesday announced Rs 5 crore for the construction of new Sufi Bhavan, at new Mumbai.
The announcement was made by minority Minister Abdul Sattar Shaikh ,in a program organised in the name of Garib Nawaz a 13th-century Sufi saint and philosopher at Rang Sharda in Bandra Mumbai
Shaikh said that he is very happy to hear that a new Sufi Bhavan is going to be built at new Mumbai hence minority ministry of the state government will give Rs five crore and the Bhoomi Pujan (Foundation stone) of the said Bhavan will be led by chief minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde.
He also said that state government will give its maximum support for the construction of the Bhavan.
On this occasion, BJP leader Haji Arfat Shaikh was elected the President of All India Sufi Board and Adil Nawaz Qadri was elected the Working President of the board.
Haji Arfat Shaikh said that the Sufi Bhavan will have all its facility including accommodation and other modern facility.
Mumbai President of B J P Ashish Shelar and Congress MLA Amin Patel were also present on the occasion.
A large number of Sufis from across the country were present during the event.
