What Is Happening In Bihar Manifest Political Reprisal Rather Than Mere Politics

By- D. N Singh

The alacrity and timing of the CBI raids on five RJD leaders in Bihar came a bit of an amazing in its essence.

An interesting contrast in timings as well. Just as the Bihar Vidhan Sabha was readying for the floor test on Wednesday.

And interesting or amusing rather that, according to the BJP leader and state unit president in Bihar, way back it was informed to the CBI by the JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar. Political observers in Bihar feel that, why was it not done(raids) then and why after the formation of the new government under Kumar?

“There is nothing much to comment. The timing speaks a lot and that is what the politics of the day is all about” said Law Kumar Mishra, veteran journalist and political analyst in Patna.

Suddenly the CBI has lost its trust on the state police and has taken support of the paramilitary forces, very rare.

Was that a selective plucking of cases by the CBI, “ it seems so” added Mishra.

The embers of discontent between now Nitish-led Mahagathbandhan and the NDA had been smoldering since more than last six months showing signs of fissures among them.

On a few important issues, the JD(U) and RJD by implication, have exhibited their differences with the BJP and then gradual distancing from each other.

Ultimately, the airs of doubts were solidified to become a contest in which Nitish outsmarted the NDA and after Maharashtra victory for the BJP, Bihar came as a major setback.

Some political thinkers hold the view that, it is a natural culmination of some frustrations those manifest like this.
