Murder convict serving life term found dead inside Boudh special jail; noose in the bathroom
Boudh, April 9: A murder case convict serving life imprisonment was found hanging at the Special Sub-Jail in Odisha’s Boudh district, last night. The jail officials on Sunday informed that the prisoner died by suicide.
The deceased Rabindra Meher of Jamaghati village under Baunsuni police station limits of this district was found hanging inside a bathroom on the jail premises this morning.
According to reports, he went to the bathroom of the jail after having dinner. Later, some prisoners found his body hanging from the bathroom ceiling with a gamcha. It is being suspected that he took the extreme step of dying by suicide.
The body of the prisoner was recovered in the presence of a magistrate and sent for autopsy to the district headquarters hospital.
