Bhubaneswar, Aug 17 : The Union government is actively working to make the Indian Chartered Accountants global leaders, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said here on Thursday.
Inaugurating the National Chartered Accoutants conference organised by the ICAI, the Finance Minister said the Union government is working to ensure that the Indian chartered Accoutants lead the world and communicate with other countries.
She said in May last the ICAI has signed MoU with the Institute of CA in England and Wells,
The Finance Minister said the agreement should be fully utilised for mutual recognition between Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Malaysia,Bahrain UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and South Africa.
Speaking on the occasion Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the strength of India is rising in digitisation in the economic sector.
“The commitment and expertise of Chartered Accountants have played a major role in strengthening our financial system. Their expertise has helped in building a prosperous and self-sufficient Bharat. , he said.
Pradhan said the GST Collection from mines, and grant received by Odisha has gone up to Rs 18 lakh crore from three lakh crore earlier in the last nine years.
The development of Odisha can be achieved if the money received by the state is utilised properly, Pradhan said.
