Sambalpur, July 27 : Perturbed over a family dispute, a youth jumped off the Mahanadi river new bridge on Wednesday night, Police said on Thursday.

When police got information that a two wheeler remained abandoned on the new bridge near collectorate till late night, they rushed to the spot and found the ownership from its number as Samiran Pradhan.

When police contacted his family, they were told that Samiran left home after a wordy duel with his wife.The family members said they are still in dark about the whereabouts of Samiran.

“The police suspected that he might have jumped off the bridge. But in spite of a frantic search by police and fire brigade, his body could not be traced, said PK Sahu, the SDPO of Sambalpur.

Samiran was staying with his parents in Gobind Tola. But after a dispute with his father, he stayed with his wife separately in another rented house,police said.
