A day does not pass when there is no news about a raid or summon from the ED or CBI to one among the lots of leaders from the opposition in the country.
It was a marathon phase when the ED and CBI nearly tip-toed into the official premises of the Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia.
In fact, the exercise started just before the Assembly elections in Gujarat where Sisodia was to campaign for the AAP along with chief minister Arvnid Kajriwal.
Since then the frequent onslaughts went on and finally Sisodia was in jail joining his colleague Satyendra Jain.
However, the incident was preceded by the Jain arrest only.
As it appears there is little scope for Sisodia to be freed for at least another few months as barrage of charges are now listed against him. It is not about the nature of the charges but the judicial procedures may come his ways out of the jail.
Earlier to that, it was the chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren who barely escaped the noose.
Now the ED and other agencies will have to deal with Soren’s father Sibu Soren allegedly mires in fraudulent acquire of wealth.
Sisodia is while incarcerating in the prison the ED has already pounced on the Telengana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kavithaa suspected to be having a stake in the Delhi Excise scam, of which Manish Sisodia is stated to be the king pin.
Not that alone, Sisodia is again facing probe on a case of snooping which is yet to be clarified as regards the charges.
The issue is not about the raids and the probe agencies also working overtime to chase the leaders from the opposition and indisputably the momentum shall remain till the time 2024 polls knock at the doors.
Another popular face standing up to the BJP is Tejaswi Yadav who faced four raids already and the permutations and combinations of the probe agencies to be made public in the alleged land for job scam.
It may recalled that, Tejaswi is to be summoned again and same is the case with Kavithaa who may be interrogated again shortly.
It is not about the raids and scams, but the pace and alacrity demonstrated by the probe agencies is bound to raise eyebrows.
Whereas, the big talk of the time, the controversies surrounding the Adani conundrum has not been as much in the priority of the institutions as in the case of the above leaders.
Because they have more often than not trained their guns at the BJP government at the centre and now a demand to constitute a PAC to go into the case of Adani group has so far not got as much urgency as it may.
