8 charred to death in car-truck collision in UP’s Bareilly
Bareilly (UP), Dec 10 (UNI) Eight persons were charred to death when a car caught fire after colliding with a dumper in Bhojipura area of Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Sunday.
Police sources said that the incident took place on Nainital highway late on Saturday night when the car went into wrong lane after it’s tyre bursted and collided with the dumper coming from the opposite direction.
Police sources said that the car caught fire and all its 8 passengers were charred to death. “The front portion of the dumper also caught fire as it dragged the car for about 25 meters,” they said.
Police sources said that the deceased have been identified as Irfan, Arif (24), Shadab (10), Asif (22), Alim (22), Ayub (36), Munne (60) and Asif (28).
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over loss of lives in the incident. While praying for the peace of departed souls he has expressed sympathies towards the bereaved families.
