Hyderabad, July 20 : The 132nd edition of Durand Cup Football tournament will begin at Kolkata on August 3.
It will be the oldest existing club football tournament in Asia.
It is an annual event hosted by the Durand Football Tournament Society in collaboration with the Indian Army, on behalf of the three services.
This year the tournament is being conducted at Kolkata by HQ Eastern Command under the aegis of Durand Football Tournament Society, an official release said here.
The trophy tour of the prestigious Durand Cup reached Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal, Hyderabad on Thursday.
The trophies were unveiled by Air Marshal B Chandra Sekhar, Commandant Air Force Academy.
General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) is the President of the tournament. The three Service Chiefs are its Vice Presidents.
The Trophy tour is planned in various parts of the country to generate enthusiasm among the young generation and inspire them.
The final is scheduled on September 3.
