-12.0 D Cel, Temp dips further in Kashmir, Gulmarg recorded season’s lowest
Srinagar, Jan 16 : Minimum temperature further dips in Kashmir valley as ski resort of Gulmarg experienced season’s coldest night at minus 12.0 degree Celsius on Monday.
Meteorological Centre forecast of mainly dry weather to continue with cloudy sky chances of light rain/snow over isolated to scattered places. There would be a fall in Minimum temperature and rise in day temperature.
Tourist hot spot of Pahalgam in south Kashmir after experiencing coldest night with minimum temperature plunges to minus 10.9 degree Celsius a day ago was recorded at minus 10.2 degree Celsius on Monday .
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 1.9 degree Celsius against minus 0.6 degree Celsius the previous night. It was 0.2 degree above normal during this period of the season. The maximum temperature recorded in Srinagar was 1.9 degree above the normal 6.4 degree Celsius recorded today.
Qazigund, on Srinagar Jammu national highway in south Kashmir had a low of minus 5.6 degree Celsius, Kokernag minus 6.6 degree Celsius while the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara recorded a low of minus 2.9 degree Celsius on Sunday, the MeT office said.
