Driver of a truck was burnt to death after the vehicle turned turtle on Rairakhol-Naktideul road near Terabeda village in Odisha’s Sambalpur district, today.
According to the information, the truck hit a roadside tree and overturned after the driver fell asleep while driving the vehicle. The fire broke out in the engine portion of the truck after the collision and its driver was burnt alive inside the vehicle.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. The fire brigade reached the spot and doused the fire. The vehicle was mostly gutted and its contents also caught fire.
On being informed, a firefighting team rushed to the spot and doused the flames. Later, the body was recovered and sent to a local hospital for post-mortem, said sources.
