Asur 2: Rise Of The Dark Side; Why Should You Watch It?
Welcome to Your Dark Side, the mythological, psychological, crime thriller, kept audiences hooked. Season 1 of the series premiered on March 2, 2020. Consisting of eight episodes, it left the viewers craving for more. The series’ top-notch, compelling narrative, screenplay, writing, performances, and twists ensured the audiences were glued to the show throughout. After a long wait Season 2 of the series is back.
“Lagaav hi peeda hai, karuna hi kroorata hai, aur ant hi praarambh,” we hear Asur recite these lines many times in the series. It means – attachment is pain, compassion is cruelty, and the end is the beginning. However, without emotions, attachment and compassion, humanity ceases to exist. Exactly! And that’s what the Asur AKA Shubh Joshi wants, who is back for revenge with his lethal plan to destroy the world.
Season 2 will also witness the return of brilliant performers Barun Sobti and Arshad Warsi. These brilliant actors will dive into the thrilling actions. Watching Dhananjay Rajput and Nikhil Nair will make the audience ride into the terrific action and be thrilled with new suspense.
The conflict between good and evil will continue to persist. But it has to be waited for and watched out for in S2 to know whether Asur will continue to have the upper hand and if Asur will continue to win.
The biggest drawback of season 1 was the background score. A series of this calibre needed a dedicated score of its own and not a knockoff of Money Heist. Wonder why the makers decided to go ahead with that. While it is still being used in the trailer and promos l, we hope they move away from it and give us something original in this department.
Having said all that, Asur 2 could not surpass the first season. Although the writers played more with the psyche and less with charred bodies, blood and gore, Season 2 has less of an impact. Season 1 was much more gripping, as the new installment seemed dragged in parts.
