Anupam Kher shares cryptic post about ‘saste log’ after The Kashmir Files doesn’t win any Filmfare Award
Anupam Kher has been on cloud nine ever since his film The Kashmir Files hit a chord with the audiences and ruled Box Office figures, making the film one of the highest grosser of the year 2022.
But after The Kashmir Files got nominations for major categories, it seems like the lead actor was quite confident of his win as well. The 68th Filmfare Awards were held on the evening of 27 April. In this, Alia Bhatt and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Gangubai’ and Rajkumar Rao starrer film ‘Badhaai Do’ won big.
In this award show, Anupam Kher’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was nominated in 7 categories. Its director Vivek Agnihotri got a nomination in the Best Director category. But this film failed to win any award. Now actor Anupam Kher has shared a strange post.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Anupam shared a quote that read: “Izzat ek mehenga tohfa hai, uski ummeed saste logo se na karein (Respect is a precious prize, don’t expect it from cheap people).” He shared it with the hashtag The Kashmir Files
Earlier, director Vivek Agnihotri had written a long note ahead of the event, calling Filmfare “unethical and anti-cinema awards”

After his post went viral, a lot of users reacted to it. “Filmfare awards bht phle hi apna credibility kho chuka h sir..acche movies and good work filmfare ke liable nai h..forget it”, wrote one while one more user explained the post, “Yahan Filmfare awards ko sasta mention Kiya gaya hai… kyonki Kashmir Files ko ek bhi Filmfare award nahi mila.”
Talking about the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, this film was released in March 2022. These 250 crores were collected at the box office. Vivek also sent his film to the Oscars 2023 race. But it failed to get the nomination. Mithun Chakraborty, Mrinal Sen, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar worked with Anupam Kher.
