Bengal govt opens anti-ragging helpline 24×4 hours
Kolkata, Aug 23 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the opening of
a new anti-ragging helpline 24×4 desk to receive complaints from any individual, either students or office workers of any institutions/organisation, police and administration would take prompt action to address the grievances, a move after the death of a teenage undergraduate student at the Jadavpur University Campus on August 9/10 last.
Announcing the launch of the anti-ragging helpline desk, 18003455678 (18003455678 ), Banerjee on Wednesday said that the details of the complainant would not be divulged and his/her phone number would be kept secret in the anti-ragging cell files.
In the cases of districts, their anti-ragging cell would be asked to submit the grievances and take-action reports.
