Bhubaneswar, Nov 20 : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday launched three affordable housing projects for slum dwellers.
These projects are — affordable housing projects at Buddha Vihar in Chandra Sekharpur and Subudhipur, and slum redevelopment projects in Shantipalli in Satyanagar.
Inaugurating the projects, the Chief Minister handed over the keys of the houses to the beneficiaries. As many as 1722 beneficiaries have got houses in three projects.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the slum dwellers have a significant role in the development of cities.
At Chndrasekhaapur 820 houses have been constructed and handed over to the beneficiaries. The target has been fixed to construct 2600 houses for economically backward people.
In Shnatipalli 1300 houses are being built in the Situ Redevelopment project. As many as 560 houses have been allotted to the beneficiaries.
At Subudhipur 342 houses have been allotted to beneficiaries.
Facilities like drinking water, drainage, sewerage, road electrification, shops, a library, a reading room, and reception centers have been made in all three projects.
