Lakhs of devotees witness Trivikram Vesta of Lord Jaganath
Puri, Nov 25 : Lakhs of devotees witnessed Tribikram Vesha or Dalikia Vesha of the Lord Jagannath and his siblings on the third day of Panchuka Brata here on Saturday.
Devotees stood in long queue within the barricade waiting for their turn to proceed as the devotees were allowed in phases inside the temple through Simhadwar .
Volunteers were distributing water bottles to the needy standing in queue while policemen and volunteers were seen escorting the differently able and elderly devotees to temple.
The temple doors were opened by 4.50AM and priests began Mangal arati after the purification ritual was over. The daily chores of deities began with Mailum, followed by Tadap laagi, Abakas and Rosahoma.
Dresser servitors set the Trinity in Tribikram Vesha which was completed by by 9.20 AM after offering of Gopal Bhog.
Despite all steps taken by the administration a Bojhia (Mahaprasad basket carrier on head) fell down in Baisi Pahacha (steps leading to main temple from Simhadwar) and got seriously injured and was rushed to district headquarter hospital. He is identified as Musa Boral of Kanthapur village located at the outskirts of Puri.
On Saturday, the IGP Ashis Singh arrived and had discussions with K.Vishal Singh the Superintendent of police over security arrangements.
Ranjan Kumar Das the Chief Administator of the sri Jagannath temple told media persons on the Saturday that the proposed laser scanning of the Bahar Ratnabhandar walls has been scheduled to begin from the 28th of this month soon after Kartika brata concludes on November. 27 .
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has been asked to start their work.
He said the laser scanning machine has already reached and is with the ASI.
If necessary laser scanning of other small temples located in the premises will be conducted the Chief Administrator said.
The repair of Natamandop will also be conducted simultaneously, he added.
