BJP seeks apology from BJD for allowing Kamiya Jani to promote Jaganath culture
Bhubaneswar, Dec 31 : Odisha BJP on Sunday demanded Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and bureaucrat turned politician V K Pandian to beg apology to the people of the state for allowing Kamiya Jani, a ‘promoter of beef eating ‘to enter Shree Jaganath temple for promoting Jaganath culture.
BJP General Secretary Jatin Mohanty at a press conference here threatened that his party would launch an agitation if the Chief Minister and Pandian did not concede to the demand and order an inquiry into the incident.
Mohanty said BJD is trying to destroy the Jaganth culture by facilitating the entry of non-Hindus into Shree Jaganath temple and trying to name the history of Shree Mandir in their names.
He threatened to launch a massive public movement in coming days if the government tried again to promote Jaganath culture by people who do not believe in Hindusm and tried to destroy the divinity of the Shree Jaganath temple.
The BJP leader criticised the Cabinet decision to spend over Rs 214 crore for promoting Jaganath culture.
He alleged that the BJD leaders are trying to market the Jaganath culture as a commodity and some Sevayats are supporting the BJD leaders in this regard.
Describing it as very unfortunate he appealed to Brahman samaj to save the Jaganath culture .
