Plight Of Patients Remain Unheard, Carried On Cot Sans Motorable Road

Bhawanipatna, Mar 5: Though Government claims to have taken all steps to provide better road connectivity in rural areas, another incident of a patient being carried on cot in absence of a proper road has come to the fore from Kalahandi district.

A critical ill child of Sindhibahali village of Lanjigarh block in the district had to be carried on a cot for 10 kilometres to Biswanathpur Community Health Centre on Friday in absence of a a motorable road.

The minor’s family members soon called for an ambulance after health condition deteriorated to carry her to a hospital. However, the ambulance could not come to the village to pick up the patient due to the unavailability of road connectivity. With no option left the child was carried on cot.
