Jharsuguda By-Poll Update: 9.75% Voting Recorded By 9 Am

Jharsuguda: The residents of Jharsguda are voting today, this will decide the fate of various political parties contesting for the elections.

Around 9.75% voter turnout was recorded in the by-election to the Jharsuguda assembly constituency till 9 am.

Polling for the Jharsuguda assembly constituency, which started at 7 am, continues in a hasslefree manner at almost all booths.

Sournces said voting was disrupted at Booth No 62 as EVM developed a technical snag one hour after beginning of polling. Voters have expressed resentment as they are standing outside under head conditions.

Though nine candidates are in the fray, the contest is mainly between the BJD, BJP, and Congress. The BJD has fielded Dipali Das, while the BJP has nominated Tankadhar Tripathy. The Congress has fielded Tarun Pandey, son of late MLA Biren Pandey.

Jharsuguda SP Smith Parmar said that polling has been peaceful everywhere in the constituency and there has been no law and order problem so far.
