Pratapgarh (UP), July 22 : Three persons, including a father-daughter duo, were killed when a truck rammed into a house in Kotwali Nagar area of Pratapgarh district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Saturday.
Police sources said that the incident took place late on Friday night when the truck loaded with sand rammed into the house in Sarai Baheliya village on Varanasi-Lucknow highway.
“Two persons, identified as Abdul Jabbar (55) and Safiya Begum (53), were killed on the spot in the accident,” they said.
Police sources said that Jabbar’s daughter Shahina Bano (23) sustained serious injuries in the incident and was taken to the district hospital where doctors declared him dead.
“The truck driver escaped from the spot. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination,” they said.
