Kolkata, Nov 21 : Business tycoon Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday lauded Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her leadership and announced an investment of Rs 20,000 crore in the state in the next three years in digital solutions and in expanding Reliance Retail and advancing bio-energy.
Addressing the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) here, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani said, ” We have planned to spend an additional Rs 20,000 crore in West Bengal in the next three years for enhancing digital life solutions, augmenting Reliance Retail footprint and on bio-energy. ”
He pointed out Reliance Industries’ investment of nearly Rs 45,000
crore in the state in recent years, expressing the company’s
commitment to bolstering Bengal’s growth.
Ambani said, ” Bengal is developing rapidly. Business and
investment opportunities have increased. Bengal today is more
vibrant, more advanced, more self-confident. ”
He believed that this huge leap of the state is due to the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
According to Ambani, this success is the result of Mamata’s foresight and leadership of Bengal.
“This is why the people of Bengal have time and again chosen you to lead them, ” Ambani said.
Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji said, “ The state provides the right
policy environment for expansion of IT industries.”
Sanjeev Goenka from RPG said they have spent Rs 25,000 crore in recent years.
The Bengal Global Business Summit, an annual event, has attracted participation from several hundred companies across 17 countries, including the UK, US, Australia, Korea, Japan, Germany, and France.
