Storm Eunice To Hit UK Tomorrow
London, Feb 17 : Southern Scotland and the rest of UK will face severe weather conditions as Storm Eunice will hit the region on Friday. According to BBC, heavy rain and strong winds swept across parts of Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland, bringing down trees, railway cables and power lines. Meanwhile, north east of England, Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Lancashire were suffering power outage and all trains in Scotland were canceled. BBC Weather said Eunice will be “quite a potent storm” with widespread gusts of up to 70mph, occasionally reaching 100mph in England and Wales.
According to Met Office, the conditions would be more damaging than Storm Dudley. Storm Dudley will move away early on Thursday – but more severe weather is on the way with Storm Eunice set to hit southern Scotland and the rest of the UK on Friday, BBC reported. The Met Office has issued four weather warnings. In England, the Environment Agency had issued two flood warnings at Keswick Campsite and along the Cumbrian coastline from St Bees Head to Millom, along the coast from North Head to Haverigg, and 42 flood alerts, where flooding is possible.
