Hyderabad, May 18: Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of South Bay of Bengal, Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and covered entire Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea.
Meteorological Centre here in a bulletin on Wednesday said the Northern Limit of Southwest Monsoon now passes through 5°N/80°E, 8°N/85°E, 12.5°N/90°E and 16.0°N/94.5°E.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its bulletin said conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of South & Central Bay of Bengal and some parts of South Arabian Sea during the next 2-3 days. Met, Hyderabad in its bulletin also said the North-South trough from West Vidarbha to North Kerala across Karnataka now runs from central Madhya Pradesh to Interior Tamil Nadu across Vidarbha, Marathwada and Interior Karnataka at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
It said Yesterday’s cyclonic circulation now lies over north interior Tamil Nadu and adjoining South interior Karnataka & Kerala and seen between 1.5 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level.Â
