No Respite From Scorching Heat In Delhi-NCR: IMD
New Delhi April 1 : There would be no respite from the scorching heat for the residents of Delhi-NCR, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted the maximum temperature will start rising from April 3 onwards and it will reach up to 42 degrees on April 6 (Wednesday).
As per IMD prediction, the sky will remain clear on Friday and strong surface winds with a speed of 20 to 30 km/hour would flow. On Thursday, the maximum temperature settled at around 39.5, six degrees above the normal mark. The minimum temperature was recorded at 20.1 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal. IMD officials said that a prolonged dry spell has led to “severe” hot weather conditions in isolated places between April 3 and 6. “Heat wave spells are likely to continue over Northwest, Central and Western India during the next 4-5 days. However, the intensity of the heat wave spell will reduce over Northwest India from April 1, 2022,” IMD Tweeted.
According to IMD, Delhi has recorded a rise of 14 degrees Celsius in daytime temperatures from the start of March till March 31st. The data also showed that the city’s monthly maximum temperature was the fourth highest since 1951, just behind 2021 (33.1 C) and 1953 (34.4 C). UNI
