Boiling Hot Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Apr 27: The upward scaling mercury and the North-Westerly dry wind is keeping Odisha a hot bed for more than a week. Normal life of people has hugely affected by the scorching son and sizzling humidity.
The Regional Meteorological Centre here today forecasted, heat wave conditions likely to prevail in several districts of Odisha on Wednesday, while thunderstorms may give few hours of relief at few places.
“Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh, Sonepur and Bolangir,” the Meteorological Centre predicted.
“Light rain/ thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha,” it added.
The Meteorological Centre advised people to avoid heat exposure, dehydration and to follow all the precautions to avoid Sun-stroke.
Similarly, farmers have been advised to continue irrigation activities in sugarcane, summer maize, pulses and other crops and seasonal vegetables.
