Azamgarh, March 5: In a development just before campaigning ended in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Mayank Joshi, son of BJP MP from Allahabad Rita Bahuguna Joshi, joined the Samajwadi Party here on Saturday.
The announcement was made by Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav at a public meeting in Bhagatpatti in Gopalpur assembly constituency.
He welcomed Mayank on the stage and thanked him. Mayank Joshi, who was denied a BJP ticket from Lucknow Cantonment, took part in the meeting. Former District Panchayat member Sheela Yadav also joined the Samajwadi Party.
