NCP Stages Protest In Pune Over Hike In Fuel Prices
Pune, Mar 24 : The activists of NCP on Thursday staged strong protests in the city against the BJP-led central government for increasing prices of diesel and petrol. Led by party’s city president Prashant Jagtap, the activists raised various slogans against the (Narendra) Modi government. They also symbolically hung an effigy of cooking gas cylinder on the gallows to register their protest. A protest march was also taken out in the city. Addressing the party workers, Jagtap said that BJP came to power in 2014 by capitalizing on many issues like inflation, unemployment and corruption, however, the fuel prices have risen sharply. Therefore, it is time for the common man to teach a lesson to BJP, he added. “At least from now on, we should express our anger against inflation by defeating the BJP candidate in every upcoming elections,” Jagtap appealed to the public.
